An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated social worker to deliver an effective social work service to children with disabilities and their families, informed by current research, legislation and departmental policy. Candidates must have experience of working within a Disabled Childrens Team with knowledge of Child in Need, Children Looked After and Safeguarding Plans. The teams undertake all of the work that traditionally involves a mainstream team. A large proportion of the work within CWD services is to identify need and provide services that remove barriers so that the child can reach his/her full potential. By working in partnership with the child's family, we help enable the parents/carers to continue to meet the needs of their child while alleviating some of the stress that this will involve. Social workers attend various panels in order to advocate for our young people who require a Residential placement or who require a direct payment to help support their care.
