Job Title: Locum Social Worker - Mental Health Team
Location: Swindon Borough Council
Rate: Competitive - dependent on experience
Contract Type: Locum / Full-Time
Working Pattern: Hybrid - minimum 2 days/week in the office

We are currently seeking a locum Social Worker to join our Mental Health Team, covering a secondment. This is an opportunity to join a proactive, person-centred team that's passionate about empowering adults with mental illness to live full and independent lives.

Key Responsibilities:

Carry out Care Act assessments and Mental Capacity assessments

Support individuals with mental illness to develop care plans and achieve outcomes

Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team

Use a strengths-based approach to promote wellbeing and independence

Undertake home visits in Swindon and occasionally in surrounding areas such as Salisbury, Bath, Bristol, and Devizes

Requirements:

Social Work England (SWE) registration

Extensive experience with Care Act and Mental Capacity Act assessments

Sound understanding of strengths-based practice

Ability to commute to Swindon and surrounding areas for visits

Experience in mental health social work is preferred, but we will also consider applicants with strong core social work skills and a willingness to develop in mental health
