Overview:
Walsall Council is seeking a skilled Qualified Social Worker (QSW) to join their Adult Mental Health Team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced practitioner to make a meaningful difference in a supportive and fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Undertake statutory duties under the Care Act 2014, including:

Section 9 assessments

Section 27 reviews

Support individuals eligible for services under Section 117 Aftercare provisions

Apply knowledge of relevant legislation, including:

Mental Capacity Act 2005

Mental Health Act 1983/2007

Equality Act 2010

Work in partnership with health professionals, carers, and other agencies to deliver holistic support and care planning

Maintain accurate records and contribute to safeguarding responsibilities when required

Requirements:

Social Work qualification and Social Work England registration

Substantial experience in adult mental health services

Strong knowledge of Care Act, MCA, MHA, and relevant legal frameworks

Ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team
