Kinship, Assessment, Supervision & Support - Countywide

The Kinship Team assesses, supports and supervises new and prospective kinship carers in the county.

As manager of this team, you will oversee the assessment of temporarily approved Kinship foster carers and prospective special guardians, as well as the provision of support and supervision provided by social workers. Ensuring that children and young people in these arrangements receive high quality support. Your leadership will be essential in managing service delivery, implementing development of the team, and ensuring statutory duties are undertaken.

Key Responsibilities:
* Lead and manage a team of Social Workers , overseeing day to day support and completion of Form K assessments
* Ensure the provision of high quality support services for foster careers, children and their families
* Work closely with the social work teams, families, carers, and multi agency partners to ensure childrens needs are met and that support services are accessible
* Oversee assessments and support plans for carers and families
* Manage resources and budgets effectively

Skills & Experience required:
* A social work qualification and up to date registration with SWE
* Experience of working in childrens services, with a focus on fostering, kinship care, or special guardianship.
* Leadership and management experience
* Knowledge of the fostering regulations and experience of working in a multi-agency and court environment
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Budget management experience
* Knowledge and understanding of the legislation, models, and theories relevant to children's social work
* Good recording and planning skills
* A valid UK driving licence and access to a car*

You will be Social Work England registered, ideally a driver with access to own car and able to reside and work in the UK
