Barnsley Council is seeking an experienced Qualified Social Worker to join our Locality Safeguarding Team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a dynamic and supportive environment where your expertise will directly contribute to improving the lives of vulnerable adults in our community.

Key Responsibilities:
Undertake safeguarding enquiries for adults (18+) at risk of abuse, neglect, and exploitation.

Collaborate effectively with multi-agency partners including police, housing services, and health professionals.

Apply a person-centred approach in line with Making Safeguarding Personal (MSP) principles.

Deliver practice grounded in The Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act 2005, and Human Rights Act 1998.

Requirements:
Must be a Qualified Social Worker with current Social Work England registration.

Demonstrable experience in Adult Safeguarding.

Sound knowledge of relevant legislation and safeguarding procedures.

Strong communication, interpersonal and partnership working skills.

Must be able to work from the office at least three days per week.

This role offers an excellent rate of £35 per hour and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact within a well-established safeguarding team.
