We're now looking for a Senior Practitioner / Assistant Team Manager to join our Learning Disabilities service on a locum basis. If youre passionate about promoting independence, inclusion, and delivering high-quality outcomes for adults with learning disabilities, we want to hear from you.

The Role
You will provide day-to-day supervision, mentoring and support to a skilled team of social workers. Youll play a key role in driving forward strengths-based practice, ensuring effective case management, and leading safeguarding investigations in line with the Care Act 2014 and MCA principles.

Key responsibilities include:

Supervising and supporting a team of qualified social workers

Supporting team operations and caseload allocation

Overseeing complex assessments, safeguarding, and care planning

Liaising with health, housing, and voluntary sector partners to deliver joined-up care

Promoting a culture of continuous improvement and learning

Requirements

SWE Registration (Social Work England)

Extensive post-qualifying experience within adult social care

Strong background in Learning Disabilities

Previous experience as a Senior Practitioner or in a leadership role

Sound understanding of the Care Act, MCA, and safeguarding procedures
