Eden Brown are seeking an enthusiastic Head of Department - Business, Economics & IT for a Sixth Form College in South East England on a permanent full time basis.

As Head of Department, you will be responsible for the leadership and development of the Business, Economics and IT curriculum. You will play a key role in shaping an ambitious, innovative, and inclusive learning environment that enables students to achieve their full academic potential and prepares them for progression to university, apprenticeships, or employment.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide academic leadership and effective management of the Business, Economics and IT department.
- Lead the planning, development and coordination of a high-quality, forward-thinking curriculum.
- Champion excellence in teaching and learning, promoting the use of innovative and evidence-based pedagogical approaches.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to share and embed best practice, driving improvements in student retention, achievement, and value-added outcomes.
- Deliver high-quality teaching in a relevant subject area, with a teaching commitment of up to 13.5 hours per week.
- Monitor and evaluate departmental performance through robust quality assurance processes and data analysis.
- Contribute to the professional development of colleagues by leading and participating in staff training and development activities.
- Support the College's strategic priorities, including student progress, enrichment, and progression pathways.
- Foster a strong team culture with high expectations, professional collaboration, and mutual support.

About You
- A degree in a relevant subject (Business, Economics or a closely related discipline).
- A recognised teaching qualification (e.g. PGCE, QTS, or equivalent).
- Significant experience of teaching A Level and/or Level 3 vocational courses within a Sixth Form or similar post-16 setting.
- A proven record of improving student outcomes and maintaining high academic standards.
- Strong leadership skills with experience in curriculum planning, team management, and quality assurance.
- Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
- A commitment to high expectations, student success, and continuous professional development.
