Job Title: Social Worker - Mental Health Team
Location: Walsall
Rate: £29.99 per hour (Umbrella)
Contract: Ongoing
Hours: Full-time
Walsall Council is seeking an experienced and motivated Adult Social Worker to join the Mental Health Team.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about delivering high-quality mental health social work, grounded in a strengths-based approach and committed to supporting recovery and independence.
Key Responsibilities:
Undertake Care Act 2014 duties, including Section 9 assessments and Section 27 reviews
Provide support with Section 117 aftercare planning
Work in line with the Mental Capacity Act 2005 (MCA), Mental Health Act 1983/2007 (MHA), and Equality Act 2010
Apply legislation effectively to ensure person-centred, lawful, and proportionate care
Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams and partner agencies to deliver holistic support
Requirements:
Qualified Social Worker (Degree or equivalent)
Registered with Social Work England
Proven experience in adult mental health social work
Strong understanding of relevant legislation and best practices
