Salford - Social Worker - MASH Team - £39 p/h Umb
Salford Council is currently seeking an experienced and dedicated Social Worker to join their MASH Team.
Location:- Chorley Road, Swinton, Greater Manchester
Pay Rate:- £39.00 per hour (Umbrella)
Working Pattern: - Hybrid Opportunity
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the first point of contact for safeguarding concerns relating to children and families, ensuring timely and effective triage of referrals.
- Gather, analyse, and assess information from multiple agencies including police, health, education, and probation to identify levels of risk.
- Undertake screening and threshold decision-making in line with statutory guidance, safeguarding policies, and local procedures.
- Assess the needs and risks for children, young people, and families, ensuring appropriate interventions are identified at the earliest opportunity.
- Work collaboratively with partner agencies within the Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub to support effective information sharing and joint decision-making.
- Make informed recommendations regarding child protection, early help, and statutory interventions.
- Ensure safeguarding concerns are responded to promptly, with a strong focus on child-centred practice and risk management.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and high-quality case records in line with legislative and organisational requirements.
- Provide professional advice and guidance to colleagues, partner agencies, and stakeholders regarding safeguarding pathways and thresholds.
- Contribute to strategy discussions, planning meetings, and safeguarding processes to support positive outcomes for children and families.
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislation including the Department for Education statutory guidance Working Together to Safeguard Children and the Children Act 1989 / Children Act 2004.
- Promote anti-discriminatory practice, equality, diversity, and inclusion in all aspects of service delivery.
Essential Requirements:
- Social Work Qualification - Degree or equivalent
- At least 3 years' experience as a social worker within children's services
- Social Work England Registration
- Driving license and access to own vehicle
