We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Qualified Social Worker to join our Reading MASH (Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub) team on a temporary basis, offering a competitive rate of up to £42 per hour (umbrella). This role is essential in ensuring the safety and well-being of children and families in our community, and we are looking for a professional who can hit the ground running.

As a Qualified Social Worker within the MASH team, you will be responsible for:

  • Conducting initial assessments and safeguarding investigations to protect vulnerable children.
  • Collaborating with multi-agency partners to share information and develop effective intervention plans.
  • Managing a caseload of complex cases while ensuring compliance with statutory regulations and guidelines.
  • Providing support and guidance to families, promoting their strengths and addressing challenges.
  • Documenting case notes and reports accurately, maintaining confidentiality and adhering to data protection policies.

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and skills:

  • A recognized social work qualification (e.g., Degree in Social Work, DipSW, or equivalent).
  • Current registration with Social Work England.
  • Proven experience in child protection and safeguarding, preferably within a MASH or similar setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with children and families.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
