We are currently seeking a dedicated and passionate Qualified Social Worker to join our Child in Care Team in Wigan. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality support and intervention to children and families in need.

Key responsibilities and duties include:

  • Undertaking assessments of children and families to determine their needs and risks
  • Developing and implementing care plans to ensure the safety and well-being of children in care
  • Working collaboratively with other professionals and agencies to provide holistic support
  • Attending court hearings and case conferences to represent the best interests of the child
  • Providing guidance and support to foster carers and adoptive families

The ideal candidate for this position will possess the following essential qualifications and skills:

  • Qualified Social Worker with a recognized social work qualification
  • Registered with Social Work England
  • Demonstrated experience working with children in care and knowledge of relevant legislation
  • Strong assessment and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Additional requirements for this role include a valid driver's license and access to a vehicle for work-related travel.
