Locum Social Worker - Intake & Assessment Team - Glamorgan
Rate: Up to £35.11 per hour (depending on experience)
Team: Intake and Assessment - Adult Social Services
Duration: 3+ months, with potential for extension
Location: Glamorgan

We are currently recruiting Social Workers to join the dynamic and fast-paced Intake and Assessment Team in Glamorgan. This team plays a vital role in providing timely responses to adult safeguarding concerns, crisis situations, and urgent assessments.

About the Role
The Intake & Assessment Team handles a diverse and interesting caseload, including:

Responding to safeguarding concerns and conducting Section 126 enquiries

Assessing and supporting people in crisis and commissioning emergency care packages

Delivering outcome-focused assessments in full partnership with citizens and carers

Addressing urgent equipment/manual handling needs

Providing information, advice, and assistance via our Wellbeing Matters Service

Re-assessing individuals with changing needs known to Adult Services

Developing person-centred Care & Support Plans in collaboration with service users

Key Responsibilities
Undertake statutory assessments in line with relevant legislation

Co-produce care and support plans that promote individual wellbeing

Manage a varied caseload with appropriate prioritisation

Liaise effectively with internal and external partners

Maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic case files

Participate in supervision, training, and team practice meetings

Support or supervise students and junior staff (for experienced candidates)

Take part in duty rota and contribute to a multidisciplinary team environment

Grade and Pay Structure
Grade 8 - Up to £32.00 per hour
For newly qualified social workers (less than 2 years PQE) who are:

Willing to complete CPEL framework requirements

Committed to developing within the role

Grade 9 - Up to £35.11 per hour
For experienced practitioners (3+ years PQE) with:

Complex casework experience

Supervision or mentoring of students/staff

Practice Assessor experience

Willingness to act as AMHP, BIA or AMCP (if qualified)
