Children's TM - Safeguarding Team - Middlesbrough
We are currently seeking a passionate and dedicated social worker to join our Children's TM - Safeguarding Team in Middlesbrough. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of children and families in need of support and intervention.
Key responsibilities and duties:
- Conducting assessments and investigations to determine the level of risk to children and develop appropriate intervention plans.
- Working collaboratively with families, partner agencies, and other professionals to safeguard children from harm and promote their welfare.
- Providing direct support and guidance to children and families, including advocacy and referrals to relevant services.
- Participating in case conferences, court proceedings, and multi-agency meetings to ensure effective safeguarding practices.
- Keeping accurate and up-to-date records of all interactions and interventions in line with statutory requirements.
Essential qualifications and skills:
- Qualified Social Worker with a recognized social work qualification and registration with Social Work England.
- Demonstrated experience in working within children's services, with a focus on safeguarding and child protection.
- Strong knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and procedures related to child welfare and safeguarding.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with children, families, and professionals.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure, manage complex cases, and make sound decisions in challenging situations.
