About the Role

CAFCASS is seeking a skilled and experienced Family Court Adviser (FCA) to join their team in Derby, supporting both Public and Private Law proceedings. This is a full-time temporary role offering competitive hourly pay for qualified professionals with a strong background in safeguarding and family court work.

Essential Criteria

  • Registered with Social Work England

  • Recent experience working in Family Court settings or similar statutory roles

  • Proven ability to work independently on complex assessments and reports

  • Excellent knowledge of safeguarding, risk assessment, and child welfare legislation

  • Able to provide 5 years of references


Desirable Skills & Experience

  • Experience working directly with CAFCASS or similar legal/child protection bodies

  • Strong communication and report writing abilities

  • Confident working with children, families, legal professionals, and external agencies
