About the Role:
Leicestershire County Council is looking for an experienced Qualified Social Worker to join their Loughborough Safeguarding Team. This is a hybrid working opportunity primarily based in the Loughborough Pod, with minimal travel to Melton for duty visits. The team provides high-quality safeguarding services to children and families in need of support, protection, or intervention.
You'll play a vital role in assessing risk, creating safety plans, and promoting the welfare of children across the region. The position requires sound safeguarding knowledge, the ability to manage complex caseloads, and a strong commitment to child-centred practice.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage a caseload of children and families requiring safeguarding interventions.
Undertake Section 47 enquiries, core assessments, and work under child protection and CIN plans.
Liaise closely with partner agencies to deliver coordinated support.
Prepare clear and comprehensive reports for meetings, reviews, and court proceedings.
Attend multi-agency meetings and represent the council professionally.
Ensure all casework and record-keeping aligns with statutory requirements.
Requirements:
Social Work qualification and Social Work England registration.
At least 3 years' post-qualification experience in statutory children's social care.
Strong background in safeguarding and child protection.
Ability to manage complex cases and deliver high-quality direct work.
Enhanced DBS and full UK driving licence.
