Supervising Social Worker- Fostering- Portsmouth
Supervising Social Worker required for work within the Fostering Team in the Portsmouth area, This role will involve working on the Isle of Wight, with some households based on the mainland. 37 hrs a week with flexible working,3 months long contract.. Competitive rates of pay to £42ph depending on experience. The team has a strong management structure and stable team.
Portsmouth City Council is seeking an experienced Supervising Social Worker to join their Fostering Team. This is a rewarding role focused on supporting foster carers to provide safe, stable, and nurturing environments for children and young people.
Key Responsibilities:
* Supervise and support a caseload of foster carers.
* Undertake foster carer assessments, reviews, and annual visits.
* Provide ongoing guidance, training, and support to carers.
* Ensure placements meet the needs of children and promote positive outcomes.
* Work collaboratively with children's social workers and other professionals.
* Contribute to placement stability and permanency planning.
* Maintain accurate records and reports in line with fostering regulations.
Requirements:
* Qualified Social Worker with a recognised social work qualification.
* Registration with Social Work England.
* Experience within fostering services or children's social work.
* Strong understanding of fostering regulations and safeguarding frameworks.
* Ability to build strong relationships with carers and professionals.
* Willingness to travel between the Isle of Wight and mainland locations.
* Excellent assessment and report writing skills.
You will be Social Work England registered, ideally a driver with access to own car and able to reside and work in the UK
