About the Role:
Barnsley Council is seeking a passionate and experienced Supervising Social Worker to join our Fostering Supervision and Support Team. This is an exciting hybrid role where you will play a vital part in supporting foster carers, ensuring high-quality placements, and promoting the wellbeing of children in care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide supervision, guidance, and support to foster carers.
- Conduct regular reviews and assessments of foster placements.
- Ensure children's safety, wellbeing, and development within foster care.
- Maintain accurate and timely records in line with statutory requirements.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, partner agencies, and multi-disciplinary teams.
- Contribute to fostering panels and the development of fostering services.
Person Specification:
- Qualified Social Worker (CQSW, DipSW, or equivalent) with current HCPC registration.
- Proven experience in fostering, child care, or social work supervision.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation, guidance, and best practice in child protection and fostering.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a hybrid working environment.
