Join our dedicated team at Kirklees Council as a Fostering Reviewing Officer within the Looked After Children (LAC) Team. This role is pivotal in assessing and reviewing the fostering placements, ensuring the welfare of children and compliance with statutory requirements.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting regular reviews of foster placements to evaluate the quality of care and support provided.
  • Collaborating with foster carers, social workers, and other professionals to develop and implement individual care plans.
  • Preparing comprehensive reports and documentation for review meetings, ensuring all relevant information is included.
  • Monitoring and assessing the progress of children in care, making recommendations for changes as necessary.
  • Providing training and support to foster carers to enhance their skills and knowledge.

To be considered for this role, you must possess:

  • A recognized social work qualification (e.g., Degree in Social Work, DipSW, or equivalent).
  • Registration with Social Work England.
  • Significant experience in child protection and fostering services.
  • Strong assessment and analytical skills, with the ability to make informed decisions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a strong commitment to teamwork.
