Staffordshire - Independent Reviewing Officer - CP / LAC Team
Staffordshire County Council is currently seeking an experienced Independent Reviewing Officer to support their Child Protection / Looked After Children Team.
Location: Civic Centre, Riverside
Pay Rate: Up to £38.00 per hour (Umbrella)
Notes : Hybrid opportunity
Key Responsibilities:
- To chair child protection conferences and child in care reviews countywide.
- To adhere to statutory guidance and work in line with the requirements as outlined in the IRO handbook.
- To complete written records in a timely way.
- Monitor the effectiveness and progress of care plans challenging drift and delay.
- To work in a multi-agency setting and apply balanced challenge via the escalation process to the local authority.
- To have a strong knowledge of process, statutory guidance, safeguarding and care planning processes.
- To visit children, obtain their voice and ensure this is heard within meetings.
- To complete quality activity and take part in a duty weekly rota.
Essential Requirements:
- Social Work Qualification - Degree or equivalent
- At least 3 years' experience as a social worker within children's services
- Social Work England Registration
- Driving license and access to own vehicle
