An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Advanced Practitioner to join the Children in Our Care Team within a well-established local authority in Gateshead.
This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled social worker looking to make a positive impact while working within a supportive team on a long-term agency contract.
About the Role
As an Advanced Practitioner, you will play a key role in supporting children in care, providing high-quality practice, mentoring colleagues, and ensuring the best possible outcomes for children and young people. You will work closely with managers and partner agencies to deliver effective, child-centred services.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a complex caseload of children in care.
- Complete high-quality assessments, care planning, and statutory visits.
- Promote positive outcomes through effective care planning and permanency planning.
- Provide practice support, guidance, and mentoring to less experienced social workers.
- Work collaboratively with multi-agency professionals to safeguard children and young people.
- Prepare detailed reports and attend court proceedings where required.
- Ensure all work is completed in line with legislation, statutory guidance, and local policies.
Requirements
- Social Work England registration.
- Significant post-qualifying experience within Children's Services.
- Strong knowledge of safeguarding, child protection, and court processes.
- Experience supporting, mentoring, or supervising social workers.
- Excellent assessment, communication, and analytical skills.
