Milton Keynes Council is currently looking for an experienced and dedicated Social Worker to join their Family Support Team on a locum basis. This is an excellent opportunity to join a forward-thinking local authority committed to delivering high-quality services to children, young people and families.
Working within a supportive and collaborative team, you will play a key role in safeguarding children, promoting positive outcomes, and supporting families through effective assessment, planning and intervention. The successful candidate will manage a varied caseload and work with children subject to Child in Need, Child Protection and Public Law proceedings.
Key Responsibilities:
Undertake comprehensive assessments of children and families in accordance with statutory requirements.
Manage a caseload involving Child in Need, Child Protection and Court work.
Develop and implement effective care plans to ensure children receive the support and protection they require.
Complete risk assessments and undertake direct work with children and families.
Prepare high-quality reports for conferences, reviews and court proceedings.
Work in partnership with multi-agency professionals to achieve positive outcomes for children.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date case records in line with local authority policies and procedures.
Requirements:
Qualified Social Worker with a recognised Social Work qualification.
Registered with Social Work England.
Previous experience within a Children's Services team.
Strong knowledge of safeguarding legislation, statutory guidance and social work practice.
Excellent assessment, communication and report-writing skills.
Ability to work independently while contributing positively to a team environment.
