Sheffield - QSW - Mental Health £30ph Hybrid
Sheffield City Council is seeking an experienced and dedicated Qualified Social Worker with a strong background in Mental Health to join our supportive and dynamic team. This is a hybrid role, offering flexibility alongside a meaningful opportunity to work with vulnerable adults and hospital inpatients.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct social care assessments for hospital inpatients and arrange timely care packages to support safe discharges
Complete Mental Capacity Assessments and Best Interest decisions as required
Undertake safeguarding enquiries in line with legal and policy frameworks
Understand and apply Section 117 responsibilities, attending s.117 meetings, ward rounds, and other professional forums
Participate in the duty rota to respond to urgent mental health cases and referrals
Requirements:
Social Work England registration
Proven post-qualified experience in a mental health setting
Strong understanding of relevant legislation, including the Mental Health Act, Care Act, and Mental Capacity Act
Excellent assessment, communication, and multi-agency working skills
