Gateshead Council is seeking an experienced and dedicated Adults Social Worker to join our dynamic Locality Team. This is an exciting opportunity for a professional who thrives in a busy environment and is committed to delivering high-quality social care services.

Pay: £24.97 per hour (Umbrella) / £184.77 per day

Role Overview:
As part of the Adults Locality Team, you will be responsible for:

Completing Care Act Assessments

Preparing and submitting Court of Protection applications

Managing and responding to safeguarding concerns

Participating in office duty rota

Conducting reviews and ongoing case monitoring

Requirements:
Qualified Social Worker with valid SWE registration

Substantial post-qualifying experience in adult social care

Sound knowledge of the Care Act, MCA, and safeguarding procedures

Ability to work autonomously and manage a complex caseload

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Contract Details:
Full-time hours (37 hours/week)
