We are currently seeking a passionate and dedicated Children's Social Worker to join our Assessment & Intervention Team in Gateshead. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality social work services to children and families in need, ensuring their safety and well-being.

Key responsibilities and duties:

  • Conducting assessments and investigations to determine the needs and risks faced by children and families
  • Developing and implementing care plans to safeguard children and promote their welfare
  • Working collaboratively with other professionals, agencies, and stakeholders to provide holistic support
  • Participating in case conferences, court proceedings, and multi-agency meetings
  • Providing direct support and guidance to children and families in crisis situations

Essential qualifications and skills:

  • Qualified Social Worker with a relevant degree and HCPC registration
  • Demonstrated experience in child protection and safeguarding work within a social care setting
  • Strong assessment and analytical skills, with the ability to make evidence-based decisions
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with children and families
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage a complex caseload
