Child Protection Advanced Practitioner | Sheffield
Sheffield City Council is seeking a dedicated and experienced Child Protection Advanced Practitioner to join our dynamic Qualified Social Work team. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for safeguarding children and supporting families in need, ensuring their welfare and protection is prioritized. You will work collaboratively with a range of professionals to assess and plan interventions that promote the best outcomes for children and young people.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Conducting comprehensive assessments of children and families to identify risks and needs.
- Developing and implementing effective intervention plans in collaboration with multi-agency partners.
- Providing supervision and mentorship to junior social workers, fostering their professional development.
- Ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation, policies, and procedures related to child protection.
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date case records and documentation.
The ideal candidate will possess the following essential qualifications and skills:
- A recognized social work qualification (e.g., Degree in Social Work, DipSW, or equivalent).
- Current registration with Social Work England.
- Significant experience in child protection and safeguarding practices.
- Strong analytical and assessment skills, with the ability to make sound decisions in complex situations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration with families and professionals.
