Social Worker - Assessment & Intervention Team | Oldham Council

We're recruiting an experienced Social Worker to join Oldham Council's Assessment & Intervention Team on an agency basis.

This is an excellent opportunity to work within a supportive team, undertaking timely assessments and interventions to safeguard children and support families. You'll manage a varied caseload, complete statutory assessments, work collaboratively with partner agencies, and develop outcome-focused care plans that make a real difference.

The Role

  • Undertake Child & Family Assessments.

  • Manage a diverse caseload within statutory timescales.

  • Complete Section 17 and Section 47 enquiries.

  • Work closely with children, families, schools, health professionals, and partner agencies.

  • Develop and review child-focused plans to ensure positive outcomes.

  • Prepare reports and maintain accurate case records.

  • Attend child protection conferences, strategy meetings, and court proceedings where required.

Requirements

  • Qualified Social Worker with a recognised Social Work qualification.

  • Registered with Social Work England.

  • Previous experience within a Children's Assessment or Front Door/Assessment & Intervention Team.

  • Strong assessment, safeguarding, and risk management skills.

  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle is desirable.
