Social Worker - Duty & Advice Team

Location: Oldham, OL1 1HD
Pay Rate: £39 per hour (Umbrella)
Contract: Locum

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Social Worker to join the Duty & Advice Team in Oldham.

This frontline role is ideal for social workers who thrive in a fast-paced environment and have strong experience in safeguarding, assessment, and referral screening. You will play a key role in ensuring children and families receive timely and effective support while working closely with multi-agency partners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Screening and processing referrals.

  • Undertaking assessments and making informed recommendations.

  • Managing safeguarding concerns and responding to child protection matters.

  • Working collaboratively with partner agencies to achieve positive outcomes.

  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date case records.

  • Participating in duty rota responsibilities and statutory interventions as required.

Requirements:

  • Social Work England registration.

  • Qualified Social Worker (Degree/DipSW/CQSW or equivalent).

  • Experience within Children's Services, particularly Duty and Assessment or Front Door teams.

  • Strong knowledge of safeguarding legislation and statutory guidance.

  • Excellent communication and assessment skills.
