Assessment & Intervention Social Worker - West Sussex
West Sussex County Council is currently seeking experienced Children's Social Workers to join their Assessment & Intervention Team based in Chichester.

Role Details
Position: Social Worker - Assessment & Intervention Team
Location: Chichester, West Sussex
Working Pattern: Full Time
Working Arrangement: Hybrid/Office-Based (Preference for office attendance with flexibility to work from home)
Pay Rate: £38.52 per hour (up to £42.00 per hour for candidates assessed at Advanced Social Worker level)
About the Role
As a Children's Social Worker, you will be responsible for:
- Undertaking high-quality assessments and care planning
- Completing child protection investigations and risk assessments
- Working directly with children and families to improve outcomes
- Preventing family breakdown wherever possible
- Ensuring children are safeguarded in line with legislation, policies, and procedures
- Building strong relationships with partner agencies and professionals
Essential Requirements
- Qualified Social Worker with current Social Work England registration
- Minimum 3 years' post-qualified experience in direct permanent employment within Local Authority Children's Services in England
- Recent frontline Children's Social Care and Child Protection experience
- Strong assessment and risk analysis skills
- Experience undertaking direct work with children and young people
- Excellent multi-agency working experience
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
- Willingness to travel across the western area of West Sussex
