Cheshire West - Team Manager - Family help Team
Cheshire west Council is currently looking for an experienced and dedicated Team Manager to join their Family help Team.
Location 1 :- Floor 1, HQ Chester, CH1 2NP
Location 2:- Floor 1, The Portal, CH65 0BE
Pay rate :- £43.00 per hour (Umbrella)
Key Responsibilities: -
- The role ensures that children and young people remain at the centre of all practice through a strengths‑based, relational and trauma‑informed approach, aligned with the Our Way of Working. Effective operational leadership is provided to ensure a stable, responsive and high‑quality service for children and families.
- The postholder is responsible for the management of risk, ensuring statutory responsibilities and escalation processes are followed, while working collaboratively with partner services. Line management duties include recruitment, induction, supervision and performance management, supporting the development of a motivated and high‑performing workforce.
- A reflective and learning‑focused culture is promoted through supervision, team meetings and feedback, with a trauma‑informed approach to responding to complaints. Service performance and quality are monitored through data analysis and quality assurance activity, using insight and user feedback to drive continuous improvement.
- Strong partnerships are maintained with internal and external agencies to improve outcomes for children and young people. The role contributes to strategic development, reporting and service planning, manages resources effectively in line with financial guidelines, and ensures compliance with statutory and inspection frameworks.
- The postholder holds responsibility for workforce and practice development, working closely with the Principal Social Worker and Practice, Workforce and Partnerships Hub. The role operates on a hybrid basis, requires flexibility to work outside normal hours, regular travel, participation in emergency rotas and the undertaking of additional duties appropriate to the grade.
Essential Requirements:
- Social Work Qualification - Degree or equivalent
- At least 3 years' experience as a social worker within children's services
- Social Work England Registration
- Driving license and access to own vehicle
