Family Help - Team Manager - Central Bedfordshire

Central Bedfordshire Council, who are currently seeking an experienced Team Manager to join their Family Help Service.

This is a fantastic leadership role within a service that truly puts children and young people at the heart of everything they do.

About the Role:
As a Team Manager, you will lead a multi-disciplinary team of Social Workers and Family Practitioners delivering:

  • Targeted Early Help
  • Child in Need
  • Child Protection services

You will play a key role in safeguarding decision-making, service development, and ensuring high-quality practice across the team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing and supporting a multi-disciplinary team
  • Making day-to-day safeguarding decisions
  • Overseeing assessment, care planning, and interventions
  • Monitoring performance and ensuring consistent practice standards
  • Handling complaints and complex challenges with professionalism
  • Working closely with Service Managers and senior leadership

What We're Looking For:

  • Qualified Social Worker with Social Work England registration
  • Strong post-qualification experience in Child Protection
  • Proven leadership and management experience
  • Confident decision-maker in safeguarding matters
  • Experience working in multi-disciplinary and statutory settings
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills

Working Arrangements:

  • Hybrid working model
  • Office attendance at least twice weekly (plus service needs)
  • Encouragement of regular in-person team collaboration
