We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Qualified Social Worker to join the Placement Team in Lewisham, offering a competitive rate of £37.52 per hour on an umbrella basis. This role is critical in ensuring the safety and well-being of children in need, and you will play a vital part in delivering high-quality social work services to families and children across the borough.

As a Qualified Social Worker in the Placement Team, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting comprehensive assessments of children and their families to identify needs and risks.
  • Developing and implementing effective care plans in collaboration with families and other professionals.
  • Managing a caseload of children in care, ensuring their needs are met and their voices heard.
  • Working closely with foster carers and residential staff to provide support and guidance.
  • Participating in multi-agency meetings to ensure coordinated approaches to safeguarding children.
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date case records and documentation in accordance with statutory requirements.

To be considered for this position, you must possess the following qualifications and skills:

  • A recognized social work qualification (BA/MA in Social Work or equivalent).
  • Registration with Social Work England.
  • Proven experience in child protection and working within a placement team.
  • Strong assessment and analytical skills, with the ability to make sound decisions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building effective relationships with children, families, and professionals.
