Herefordshire Council is currently looking for an experienced and dedicated Senior Practitioner to join their Children with Disabilities Team.

Location :- Plough Lane, Hereford, Herefordshire, HR4 0LE

Payrate :-£33.30 Per hour (Umbrella) + Up to £150 per week accommodation allowanced

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide support and supervision to Social Workers and other staff within the Children with Disabilities (CWD) team.
  • Work closely with partner agencies to ensure collaborative and effective service delivery.
  • Complete assessments across the child's journey, including short break assessments, child protection, and court work.
  • Ensure consistency in social workers to foster a relationship-based model of practice.
  • Lead and support the team to ensure high-quality practice and outcomes for children and families.
  • Manage a complex caseload with a focus on improving the lives of children and families within Herefordshire.
  • Use honed skills in assessment, report writing, and case management to ensure best practice in statutory social care.
  • Contribute to the Restorative Journey of Improvement within the Directorate.

Essential Requirements:

  • Social Work Qualification - Degree or equivalent
  • At least 3 years' experience as a social worker within children's services
  • Social Work England Registration
  • Driving license and access to own vehicle
