Remote - Herefordshire - LADO Role
Herefordshire Council is currently looking for an experienced and dedicated LADO officer.
Location :- HR4 0LE
Pay rate :- £43.02 per hour (Umbrella)
Fully remote working
Key Responsibilities: -
- Management and coordination of allegations against individuals working with children, ensuring they are handled in a timely, robust, and fair manner.
- Providing advice and guidance to employers, individuals, and organizations regarding concerns about adults working with children, especially if their behavior suggests they may have harmed a child or are unsuitable to work with children.
- Expertise in risk management, ensuring children's safety and following proper safeguarding procedures.
- Collaboration with stakeholders and partner agencies, ensuring effective communication and working together to manage safeguarding concerns.
- Challenging and scrutinizing practices within agencies to ensure children's safety is prioritized.
- Strong knowledge of relevant legislation and guidance, particularly Working Together to Safeguard Children (2013), and understanding the roles of people in positions of trust.
- Ensuring fair and transparent processes for managing allegations in accordance with statutory guidance and best practices.
- Liaising with employers and other professionals to provide support, guidance on next steps, and ensure coordination in the investigation process.
- Promoting safeguarding standards by helping develop policies, procedures, and best practices to protect children.
Essential Requirements:
- Social Work Qualification - Degree or equivalent
- At least 3 years' experience as a social worker within children's services
- Social Work England Registration
- Driving license and access to own vehicle
