An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Qualified Social Worker to join the Children with Disabilities Team within a well-established local authority in Bradford.
This is an excellent opportunity to make a meaningful difference to the lives of children with disabilities and their families while working within a supportive and experienced team on a long-term agency contract.
About the Role
As a Qualified Social Worker in the Children with Disabilities Team, you will manage a caseload of children and young people with complex needs, ensuring they receive the appropriate support, assessments, and services to achieve the best possible outcomes.
You will work closely with families, carers, education, health professionals, and partner agencies to safeguard children and promote their welfare through effective care planning and multi-agency collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a caseload of children and young people with disabilities.
- Complete Child and Family Assessments, reviews, and statutory visits.
- Develop and implement child-centred care and support plans.
- Work collaboratively with families, carers, schools, health professionals, and partner agencies.
- Undertake safeguarding duties and manage risk appropriately.
- Prepare reports for meetings, reviews, and court proceedings where required.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date case records in line with statutory requirements.
Requirements
- Social Work England registration.
- Significant post-qualifying experience within Children's Services.
- Strong knowledge of safeguarding, child protection, and court processes.
- Experience working with children with disabilities or within a similar specialist team.
- Excellent assessment, communication, and analytical skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a multi-agency environment.
