Wolverhampton - QSW - Adoption Support Team
City of Wolverhampton Council is currently looking for experienced Agency Social Workers to join their Adoption Support Team.
Pay Rate: £30.57 per hour (Umbrella)
Location: Civic Centre
Key Responsibilities:
- Undertake assessments of adoption support needs for adopted children, adoptive families, and birth relatives.
- Develop, implement, and review adoption support plans to promote stability and positive outcomes.
- Provide direct support, guidance, and intervention to adoptive families facing challenges.
- Work collaboratively with children, adopters, birth families, and partner agencies to meet identified needs.
- Support children and families in understanding and managing issues related to attachment, trauma, identity, and life-story work.
- Coordinate and monitor services commissioned to meet adoption support needs.
- Facilitate and support contact arrangements between adopted children and birth family members where appropriate.
- Prepare reports, assessments, and recommendations in line with statutory requirements and agency procedures.
- Attend and contribute to multi-agency meetings, reviews, and professional forums.
- Maintain accurate case records and ensure all work is compliant with adoption legislation, regulations, and safeguarding procedures.
- Provide advice and support to prospective and approved adopters on adoption-related matters.
- Promote the welfare, safety, and best interests of adopted children at all times.
Essential Requirements:
- Social Work Qualification - Degree or equivalent
- At least 3 years' experience as a social worker within children's services
- Social Work England Registration
- Driving license and access to own vehicle
