Job Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Adoption Social Worker (Level 3) to join the established adoption service within Leicester. Working as part of the regional adoption agency Family Adoption Links, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality permanence planning and securing lifelong families for children.

This is a highly rewarding frontline adoption role focused on family finding, adopter assessment, matching, and post-panel support through to Adoption Order.

Key Responsibilities

  • Recruit, assess, and prepare prospective adopters through robust Stage 1 and Stage 2 processes
  • Provide ongoing support to adopters through family finding, matching panel, introductions, and placement support
  • Undertake proactive family finding for children with Placement Orders across Leicester City
  • Work collaboratively within the Regional Adoption Agency (Family Adoption Links) to maximise adopter and child matching opportunities
  • Support children and families through to Adoption Order completion
  • Contribute to permanence planning and multi-agency decision-making
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and high-quality case recording in line with statutory requirements

Essential Requirements

  • Qualified Social Worker with Social Work England (SWE) registration
  • Minimum 3+ years post-qualified experience within UK Children's Services (Local Authority)
  • Proven experience in Adoption, Permanence, or Children in Care services
  • Strong understanding of family finding, matching, and permanence planning
  • Full UK driving licence and access to vehicle
