The Children's TM - UASC Team in Birmingham is seeking an enthusiastic individual to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will work closely with unaccompanied asylum-seeking children (UASC), providing them with the support and guidance they need to navigate their unique challenges and integrate into the community.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Conducting thorough assessments to identify the needs of UASC and developing tailored care plans.
- Building trusting relationships with children and young people, ensuring their voices are heard and respected.
- Collaborating with various stakeholders, including schools, health services, and community organizations to coordinate support services.
- Monitoring and reviewing care plans, ensuring that the welfare of the child is always prioritized.
- Providing advocacy and support during legal processes and other formal proceedings.
To be considered for this role, you must possess the following essential qualifications and skills:
- A recognized qualification in Social Work (e.g., Degree in Social Work, DipSW, or equivalent).
- Registration with Social Work England.
- Proven experience working with children and young people, particularly in a social work setting.
- Strong understanding of child protection legislation and safeguarding practices.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse groups.
