Assessment Officer - Income & Debt (SC6)

Temporary Accommodation Income Team - Enfield
We are looking for a motivated and customer focused Assessment Officer to join our Temporary Accommodation Income Team. As part of the rent collection service, you will play a key role in delivering proactive, effective and compassionate income management support to our residents.
Working in line with national legislation and Enfield's corporate policies and procedures, you will provide a professional, positive and responsive service to all customers. You will need to build strong relationships, communicate clearly, and engage effectively with residents including those who may be vulnerable or facing challenging circumstances.
Key Responsibilities
* Work collaboratively as part of a high performing team within the Temporary Accommodation Income service.
* Contact tenants in rent arrears, discussing their situation with empathy while ensuring income is maximised and sustainable payment arrangements are set up.
* Proactively support customers by identifying financial support needs, including referrals for benefits, debt advice or other assistance.
* Work across teams and with partner agencies to ensure joined up support for residents.
* Maintain accurate records and ensure all work is carried out in accordance with relevant policies, procedures and statutory requirements.
* Provide a customer focused service at all times, promoting positive outcomes and helping residents sustain their accommodation.
