Are you a strategic leader with a passion for driving performance and improving financial outcomes? Brent Council is seeking a Debt Recovery Team Leader to oversee and optimise the recovery of multiple debt portfolios, including Housing Benefit Overpayments, Adult Social Care, and Sundry Debt.
About the Role:

As the Debt Recovery Team Leader, you will:
* Manage Debt Portfolios: Ensure effective, timely, and consistent recovery activity across assigned portfolios.
* Ensure Compliance: Operate within legislative frameworks, case law, and Council policies, safeguarding our financial position.
* Lead Operational Performance: Deliver the Council's Debt Recovery Strategy, enhancing recovery outcomes and reducing bad debt.
* Motivate and Develop Staff: Lead, coach, and mentor a team of recovery staff, managing performance, conduct, and attendance.
* Drive Performance Targets: Set and monitor recovery targets, addressing underperformance promptly to achieve high standards.
* Optimise Recovery Processes: Apply appropriate recovery methods, agree repayment arrangements, and maintain a strong understanding of debt legislation and best practice.
* Collaborate for Improvement: Work with internal teams and external partners to resolve operational issues and enhance service delivery.
* Analyse and Communicate Data: Monitor performance, identify trends, and provide evidence-based insights to support informed decision-making.
