We are currently recruiting for an experienced Social Worker to join a dedicated Fostering Team within Sunderland Together for Children. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled practitioner to contribute to a supportive service that prioritises positive outcomes for children and foster carers.
About the Role
You will be working within the Fostering Team, supporting foster carers and children to ensure high-quality care arrangements and stable placements. The role requires a confident and experienced Social Worker who can manage a complex caseload and contribute to improving practice standards within the service.
Key Responsibilities
- Undertake high-quality assessments and reviews for foster carers
- Provide ongoing support, supervision, and guidance to foster carers
- Ensure all work is compliant with safeguarding and statutory requirements
- Contribute to care planning and placement stability for children and young people
- Work collaboratively with multi-agency professionals
- Maintain accurate and timely case records in line with local authority procedures
Requirements
- Social Work England registration
- Significant post-qualifying experience within Children's Services
- Strong knowledge of safeguarding, child protection, and court processes
- Experience supporting, mentoring, or supervising social workers
- Excellent assessment, communication, and analytical skills
