Tameside - Lead Child Protection Practitioner/Chair - £40 p/h Umb
Tameside Council currently looking for an experienced and dedicated Lead Child Protection Practitioner/Chair to join their team
Location: Market Place, Ashton Under Lyne
Pay Rate: £40.00 per hour (Umbrella)
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and chair strategy meetings at the front door to assess safeguarding concerns and determine next steps.
- Provide professional oversight and guidance on Section 47 enquiries, ensuring threshold decisions are robust and timely.
- Chair Child Protection Conferences, ensuring effective planning and decision-making to safeguard children.
- Quality assure child protection plans, offering support, challenge, and oversight to practitioners and partner agencies.
- Identify and respond to all forms of harm, including extra-familial harm, exploitation, and contextual safeguarding risks.
- Work collaboratively with families to build effective relationships and achieve positive outcomes for children.
- Support and advise multi-agency partners in understanding and addressing risks within community, peer, and wider contextual settings.
- Apply statutory frameworks, legislation, and safeguarding procedures to ensure compliance and best practice.
- Promote anti-discriminatory and inclusive practice, ensuring services are responsive to the diverse needs of children and families.
- Maintain a child-centred approach, ensuring the child's voice, safety, and best interests remain central in all safeguarding decisions.
Essential Requirements:
- Social Work Qualification - Degree or equivalent
- At least 3 years' experience as a social worker within children's services
- Social Work England Registration
- Driving license and access to own vehicle
