Solihull - Advanced Practitioner - Safeguarding Team
Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council is currently seeking an experienced and dedicated Advanced Practitioner to Join their Safeguarding Team.
Location: Council House, Solihull
Pay Rate: £33.30 per hour (Umbrella)
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage complex safeguarding cases, providing expert social work intervention to protect children and promote positive outcomes.
- Provide practice leadership, mentoring, and support to social workers, helping to develop high-quality safeguarding practice.
- Undertake complex assessments, Section 47 enquiries, and risk assessments, ensuring timely and effective decision-making.
- Offer professional guidance on safeguarding thresholds, care planning, and statutory interventions.
- Work collaboratively with multi-agency partners to coordinate effective safeguarding responses for children and families.
- Chair or contribute to strategy discussions, core groups, and other safeguarding meetings as required.
- Quality assure assessments, reports, and care plans to ensure compliance with legislation, statutory guidance, and local standards.
- Promote strengths-based, child-centred, and anti-discriminatory practice, ensuring the child's voice remains central to all decisions.
- Support the Team Manager with case oversight, service improvement, and performance monitoring.
- Maintain accurate case records and contribute to the continuous improvement of safeguarding practice and service delivery.
Essential Requirements:
- Social Work Qualification - Degree or equivalent
- At least 3 years' experience as a social worker within children's services
- Social Work England Registration
- Driving license and access to own vehicle
