We're Hiring: Council Tax Collection Officer
Location: Exeter | Grade E | Full-time | Court attendance required

Join Exeter City Council and make a real difference in our community! We're looking for a proactive and resilient Council Tax Collection Officer to help support residents, recover Council Tax arrears, and protect the Council's vital income.

In this key role, you'll be:

Monitoring and managing accounts in arrears

Negotiating realistic payment plans

Supporting customers facing financial hardship

Liaising with enforcement agents, landlords, and other stakeholders

Promoting sustainable solutions in line with our _Help Me With My Problem_ approach


You'll need:

Experience in income recovery or similar customer-focused environments

Excellent communication and negotiation skills

Confidence handling challenging conversations and sensitive data

A calm, flexible, and positive approach

Strong knowledge of Council Tax legislation and recovery procedures (or a willingness to learn)
