Assistant Team Manager - Mental Health
Location: Richmond & Wandsworth (Shared Staffing Arrangement)
Rate: £37.00 per hour (via umbrella)
Hours: Full-Time | Adult & Community Services

Richmond and Wandsworth Councils are looking for an experienced Assistant Team Manager to join their Mental Health Social Care Team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a qualified social work professional to step into a leadership role within a supportive and forward-thinking service.

Key Responsibilities:
Provide day-to-day management and professional supervision of a team of Social Workers, Senior Social Workers, and Support Workers

Support delivery of statutory duties under the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act, and Human Rights Act

Act as Safeguarding Adults Manager (SAM) and chair safeguarding enquiry meetings

Oversee and authorise Care and Support Plans, ensuring quality and value for money

Work closely with health, voluntary, and community sector partners to promote joined-up care

Deputise for the Team Manager and manage complex or high-risk situations

Essential Requirements:
Qualified Social Worker with Social Work England registration

Significant post-qualification experience in Adult Social Care/Mental Health

Experience supervising or mentoring social care professionals

Sound knowledge of relevant legislation and safeguarding frameworks

Confident communicator and decision-maker with excellent organisational skills
