Stockport - Assistant Team Manager - QSW or OT

Stockport Council is seeking an experienced Assistant Team Manager to provide short-term support while permanent recruitment is underway. This is a key leadership role within our Front Door Service, ideal for someone confident in managing high-pressure environments and making defensible, evidence-based decisions.

? Key Responsibilities:
Triage and manage incoming referrals into the service

Support the Team Manager in day-to-day operational oversight

Lead a fast-paced team in line with safeguarding and statutory duties

Make timely, well-reasoned decisions based on legislation, policy, and risk

Provide support and guidance to frontline staff

Ensure smooth running of the service during a period of transition

? Requirements:
Qualified Social Worker (registered with Social Work England) or HCPC-registered Occupational Therapist

Proven management or leadership experience in adult services

Prior experience in triaging referrals and managing front door services

Strong working knowledge of safeguarding, Care Act, and relevant frameworks

Experience using Liquid Logic is essential

Excellent communication, organisational, and decision-making skills
