Debt Recovery Assistant (Hybrid) - Elmbridge
£24.95 UMB p/h | 36 hours per week | 18-week contract
Location: Esher (1 day in-office per week, 3 days in the first week)

Elmbridge Borough Council is seeking a Debt Recovery Assistant to join our Finance Team. In this hybrid role, you will support the Debt Recovery Officer in pursuing unpaid Local Taxation, Housing Benefit Overpayments, and Sundry Debt.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage and reconcile systems

Respond to customer enquiries and negotiate repayment plans

Work with external debt collection agencies

Handle direct debits and maintain user manuals

Requirements:

Experience with the Academy system (or similar)

Strong organisational and communication skills

Ability to work with minimal supervision

Start immediately and contribute to essential council operations.
