Stockport - OT - Adult Social Care £33ph
Stockport Council is seeking experienced Occupational Therapists to join our Equipment and Adaptations Team on a 6-month short-term contract. This critical role supports a borough-wide initiative in response to the MHRA safety alert regarding bed levers, ensuring all equipment remains safe and fit for purpose.
About the Role:
You will be responsible for conducting face-to-face assessments and full reviews of individuals provided with bed levers prior to June 2024. Your assessments will be comprehensive and tailored, helping to ensure the ongoing safety and independence of service users.
Key Responsibilities:
Complete full Occupational Therapy assessments for individuals with in-situ bed levers.
Where care packages exist, review and liaise with Neighbourhood Teams regarding any changes.
Conduct assessments for individuals currently on the EAAT waiting list, including equipment and environmental recommendations.
Carry out Moving & Handling assessments where necessary, and provide detailed plans to support client needs.
Review existing adaptations following previous OT involvement and assess current effectiveness.
Requirements:
Qualified Occupational Therapist with experience in adult social care.
Ability to conduct thorough assessments and manage complex caseloads.
Skilled in Moving & Handling and equipment recommendations.
Excellent communication and multidisciplinary liaison skills.
Must be able to carry out face-to-face visits across Stockport hybrid working is supported for administrative tasks.
