Rent Arrears recovery officer - Sutton - £23.86 p/h umb

Job Purpose:

The Rent Arrears Recovery Officer is responsible for managing and recovering outstanding rent arrears from tenants in a timely and effective manner. The role involves working closely with tenants, landlords, and other stakeholders to reduce arrears, ensure compliance with tenancy agreements, and maintain a high level of customer service.

Key Responsibilities:
Arrears Management:

Monitor and manage rent arrears for tenants, ensuring timely action is taken to recover debts.

Conduct regular reviews of arrears cases to identify trends and take appropriate action.

Contact tenants via phone, email, and letter to inform them of arrears and negotiate payment plans.

Ensure all arrears are resolved in line with company policies and legal requirements.

Debt Recovery:

Initiate and manage the rent recovery process, including issuing warning letters and notices.

Work closely with legal teams or external agencies to pursue court action or evictions when necessary.

Assist in the preparation of documentation for court hearings or eviction proceedings.

Customer Service & Communication:

Provide excellent customer service to tenants, offering support and guidance on resolving arrears issues.

Handle tenant complaints and concerns in a professional and empathetic manner.

Act as the main point of contact for tenants regarding rent payments and arrears issues.
