Pay Rate: £36 - £38 per hour


About the Service:

The Prevention and Support Service (PASS) provides integrated support to children, young people, and families. Our goal is to offer practical advice, support, and direct intervention to prevent issues escalating to statutory social care involvement.

PASS operates on a "team around the family" approach and includes a range of professionals:

  • Senior Practitioners / Social Workers
  • Family Support Workers
  • Parental Outreach Workers
  • Youth Offer Staff
  • Community Support Workers
  • Programme Manager

The team is supported by strategic oversight services to ensure coordinated and effective support for families.

The Role:
We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Senior Practitioner to join PASS. You will:

  • Work with a varied caseload of children and families to provide consultation, support, and direct intervention
  • Supervise and mentor less experienced or unqualified staff
  • Deputise for the Team Manager as required
  • Ensure compliance with legislation, statutory guidance, and local policies

Key Experience & Skills:

  • Extensive experience in direct work with children and families requiring support
  • Excellent engagement and communication skills
  • Commitment to improving outcomes for children and families
  • Knowledge of working with families affected by parental separation, domestic abuse, mental ill health, and substance misuse
  • Strong assessment and safeguarding skills, with a focus on the child's experience

Qualifications:

  • Social Work degree
  • Completion of ASYE
  • Minimum 2 years post-qualifying experience in Children's Services

Essential Requirements:
* Social Work Qualification - Degree or equivalent
* At least 3 years' experience as a social worker within children's services
* Social Work England Registration
