Wolverhampton - Social Worker - Fostering Team
City of Wolverhampton Council is currently looking for an experienced and dedicated Social Worker to join their Fostering Team.
Location :- Civic Centre, WV1 1RL
Payrate :-£30.57 Per hour (Umbrella)
Key Responsibilities:
- Undertake Fostering Assessments: Conduct comprehensive fostering assessments, ensuring all necessary documentation is completed in line with fostering regulations and National Minimum Standards.
- Kinship Carer Assessments: Carry out Form K assessments with kinship carers to evaluate their suitability and ensure the needs of the children in their care are met.
- Provide Support and Supervision to Foster Parents: Offer ongoing support and supervision to foster carers, helping them meet the needs of the children they care for and ensuring their wellbeing.
- Private Fostering Assessments: Conduct Private Fostering assessments, ensuring the safety and suitability of private fostering arrangements.
- Work Within Regulatory Standards: Ensure all assessments and practice adhere to Fostering Regulations and National Minimum Standards, maintaining high standards of practice.
- Build Strong Relationships: Develop respectful, empowering relationships with children, young people, and families to help them find sustainable solutions.
- Promote Child-Cantered Practice: Prioritize the needs of children in all aspects of your work, ensuring their safety, wellbeing, and voices are central in decision-making.
- Collaborate Across Teams: Work effectively with other teams and services, ensuring coordinated care and support for children and families.
- Embody Restorative Practice: Use a Restorative Practice approach to build strong connections with families and colleagues, supporting long-term positive outcomes for children and families.
- Manage a Caseload: Maintain a manageable caseload to ensure quality, in-depth assessments and support for each family and child.
- Engage in Continuous Development: Participate in a clear development pathway and take advantage of substantial training and development opportunities offered by the council to enhance practice.
- Work with a Vision for Excellence: Strive for high aspirations and expectations, contributing to the council's vision of delivering excellent social work practice for children, young people, and families.
Essential Requirements:
- Social Work Qualification - Degree or equivalent
- At least 3 years' experience as a social worker within children's services
- Social Work England Registration
- Driving license and access to own vehicle
